The ski area of Berchtesgaden offers lovers of winter sports something like 6 resorts, for a total of 47 km of slopes up to 1800 meters of altitude. The main feature of this area, as well as the presence of modern facilities, is the possibility to practice safe off-piste skiing, thanks to a scrupulous monitoring. The area is also ideal for skiing holidays with families, especially in the Hochschwarzeck area.
In Berchtesgaden, in the Bavarian Alps, you can have fun also late in the evening hours: Obersalzberg tracks are indeed illuminated after sunset for the entire winter season. The tracks that connect Oberau to Rossfeld are ideal for beginners.
Just north of Berchtesgaden, in Götschen, there is a snowpark for snowboarders with a halfpipe of 120 metres, while the Zinken Mountain ski area it is possible “move abroad” and enjoy skiing in the Bavarian areas of the Austrian slope.
The District of Berchtesgadener is among the most frequented in Bavaria, mainly because it is equipped for different levels of difficulty and because it offers the possibility to practice many disciplines, from classic Alpine skiing and cross-country skiing, to the most innovative snowkiting and paraski.
The area also offers wonderful excursions and the possibility to enjoy several trips in the immediate vicinity. A few kilometres south of Berchtesgaden, lies Lake Königssee, furrowed by ferries that will give you the opportunity to enjoy the snowy landscapes of the surrounding National Park.
