Useful hints and tips for travelers in Germany
This is the 35th edition of a unique event: for two days, over 350 vintage cars are exhibited at the Kurgarten of Baden–Baden, a town in western Baden-Württemberg. This is one of the largest European events in the world of vintage cars, which bears the name “Concours d’élégance automobile”.
From July 8 to 10, the park in front of the Kurhaus becomes an open-air museum of automobile history.
This year’s guest brand of honor is Mercedes-Benz. In 2010 it has been Alfa Romeo. Participation is open to all vehicles manufactured until 1970.
In Baden-Baden, this event is organized since 1976, and dedicated to fans of classic cars from all over Europe. An event which, in this town also famous for its thermal spas, will be attended by more than 25 thousand visitors.
Thirty years ago, in the first edition, there were little more than a dozen models presented at the exhibition: nowadays the number is 350, growing from year to year. In the two days preceding the event, takes place a non-competitive rally of vintage cars, which will run across the Black Forest and the Alsace region.
