Useful hints and tips for travelers in Germany
The DMY Berlin is one of the most important events in the world for product design. The event takes place since 2003 and brings together the work and experiences of young designers who offer interesting ideas to already established designers and companies; an authentic Idea Factory that will feed the design business in the future months.
Since 2005, the DMY has set up a network of relationships with major world events such as the Salone del Mobile of Milan, Tokyo Designtide, Expo Design Taiwan, Seoul Design Fair or Mes de Diseño of Buenos Aires, and thanks this twinning, exhibitors and institutions from more than 30 countries come to Berlin for the International Design Festival.
The DMY International Design Festival aims to be a point of intersection between the public, businesses, press and new generations of designers, with insights into contemporary design and in particular on products and industrial design. Research, innovation and multidisciplinary approaches are strongly encouraged.
DMY is an event prepared with great care. Participants are admitted after an examination by a panel of experts consisting of five members from industry professionals. Internationally renowned designers such as Werner Aisslinger, Jurgen Bey and Seymour Jerszy form the permanent jury of the festival, assisted every year by other personalities from the world of design.
The 2011 edition of the DMY will be held in the former Tempelhof airport in Platz der Luftbrücke, three kilometers south of the centre, in the limited area between the districts of Kreuzberg, Schöneberg and Neukölln. The entrance ticket to the event varies from 10 to 33 euro. For information: http://dmy-berlin.com/en
