As every year since 1994, Techno Music fans will gather once again for a truly unique event. The leading European event for Techno music will be held in Mannheim, German city in the state of Baden-Württemberg, and the location will be Maimarkthalle, an area of 8 000 square meters which can accommodate 15 000 people. Some fifty artists will be performing at Time Warp from March 31 at 7pm to April 1 at 12 noon, delighting fans of this genre with their electronic instruments and consoles.

Wonderful in its simplicity, and delicious to the palate, this is a hot, crispy pork sausage, cut into chunks, and served with a spicy curried ketchup. Leipziger Buchmesse is one of the leading events in Europe for the publishing and media sector. This is the Leipzig Book Fair, and will be held from March 15 to 18 at Leipziger Messe, Messe-Allee, in the north of the city. An event that promises very impressive numbers: over 2000 exhibitors, 160 000 visitors, of which 50 000 operators in the sector, more than 1500 speakers for conferences and meetings, 1900 scheduled events of which more than 300 will be held at several other venues across the city. The whole city of Leipzig, in fact, is involved in the Book Fair, which has become Europe’s biggest festival of literature.

Stuttgart, Capital City of the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg, is an interesting city from many points of view. It’s a city full of monuments, home to an important trade fair, and it boasts a high cultural standard, with plenty of events, concerts and shows held throughout the year. Stuttgart is also very famous because its Bad Cannstatt district is home to Europe’s largest spa: more than 19 sources, of which 11 are considered therapeutic. In the same district there is the Wilhelma zoo, hosted within the famous Rosensteinpark, and a major event is held every year in September, the beer festival Cannstatter Volksfest.

F.re.e is the new C-B-R Fair for Leisure and Travel, which has changed its name. It was and remains the leading appointment for leisure and travel, and takes place in southern Germany. F.re.e offers a rich program of side events, appointments and shows on the world of adventure and travel, and will be held at the exhibition center of Munich, Munich Messe. The fair takes place from February 22nd to the 26th: in those days, Munich also offers many musical appointments to relax after the fair.

In the centre of the Ruhr area, one of the most populous metropolitan areas across Europe, Essen has experienced as a protagonist the period of the Industrial Revolution, from the extraction of coal to steel production, under the auspices of the Krupp family. In the last twenty years, the relative decline of its industrial vocation, has made Essen one of Germany’s most important cultural and exhibition hubs. Culture revolves around the Colosseum Theater in Altendorfer Strasse, which offers a rich calendar of events. The business and service sectors mainly focus around Messe Essen, a 110 square meters exhibition center which hosts 50 events every year, of which around 15 have an international dimension.

Since 1950, Berlin is home to one of the leading Film festivals worldwide, Berlinale. For two weeks, the city will be fully involved in this event attracting some 20 000 professionals of the film industry and more than 4 000 critics and journalists. For this year’s edition, more than 200 000 tickets will be available for the vision of hundreds of films in competition. Berlinale will run from February 9 to 19: one of the highlights of the event is on Feb14th, with a screening of the film ‘The Iron Lady’, in which Meryl Streep plays Margaret Thatcher. The great actress, born in Summit, New Jersey (USA), will be awarded the Honorary Golden Bear for Lifetime Achievement.
