Germany’s Military History Museum reopens in Dresden

At the beginning of 2011, the New York Times made a list of twenty places not to be missed during the year. Among them, there was Dresden, for the lively architectural and cultural activity that is pervading the city in recent years, but especially for the reopening of Mhm, Militärhistorisches Museums, which is considered the third most important museum complex on national history after the House of history in Bonn (Haus der Geschichte der Bundesrepublik Deutschland) and the German Historical Museum in Berlin (Deutsches Historical Museum.)

More than a hundred locations open to the public from 7 pm to 2 am. Not only museums but also clubs and spaces where to listen to music of all genres. This is the Long Night of Museums, which will be held on October 15 in Munich (Lange Nacht der Münchner Museen.) The program also includes a long… afternoon, from 2 to 6 pm, with initiatives, shows, tours and concerts mainly dedicated to children.

Frankfurt – Surreal objects from Dalì to Man Ray, until May 29th.

One of the most important 2011 exhibitions in Germany will last until the end of May. In Frankfurt’s Schirn Kunsthalle, in Romerberg – on the banks of river Main, are on display 150 works by artists such as Dali, Duchamp, Picasso, Magritte, Mirò and many others.
