During the summer months, some of the best opera stages in Munich open to one of the most important musical events of the year: the Opera Festival organized by the Bayerische Staatsoper. The festival takes place at the Nationaltheater (2, Max-Joseph-Platz), Cuvilliés- Theater (1, Residenzstraße) and Prinzregententheater (12, Prinzregentenplatz ).

June 30 to July 5: Wine Festival in Freiburg

Over 400 wines and sparkling wines can be tasted at the Freiburg Wine Festival, in Baden-Württemberg Land – Germany, on Münsterplatz, the Cathedral Square. It is not only on the square that the festival takes place, but also in restaurants, inns and bars in the area where you can also taste the dishes of Baden-Württemberg cuisine.

June 22 – July 17: Tollwood Summer Festival in Munich, music and culture non profit

The Tollwood Festival of Munich is a great event held twice a year, in early summer and early winter. This is a festival of arts and culture, with dozens of scheduled events, theater, music, impromptu shows, acrobats and street performers. All in the name of ecology and zero impact.

June 25th: Hannover, the second turn of the International Fireworks Competition

The annual fireworks competition, held in the Herrenhausen gardens of Hanover, has started in May, with the Sweden performance. On June 25, it will be up to France, then Spain on August 27, Austria on September 10 and Mexico on September 24. During the days of the competition, the Herrenhausen Gardens, in the north-east of the city, are occupied by a great festival, with any sort of stalls, shows and concerts. Tickets to watch the fireworks cost between 15 and 19 €.

During the last weekend of June, as every year, on the banks of the river Elbe near Dresden, in the section between Loschwitz and Pillnitz, takes place Elbhangfest. Over 200 events of music, theater, cultural debates and markets, in the background of the magnificent hills that border the great river.

June 3-14, Baroque music in Göttingen with Händel Festival

In Göttingen, June 3 to 14, will be held the annual festival devoted to Händel. The Göttingen International Händel Festival is the most traditional event in Germany celebrating classical music. The rediscovery of the work of Händel in Göttingen dates back to 1920: since then, every year for twelve days the life of Göttingen revolves around the famous composer and his music.
