After six years since the last edition, on May 25 and 26 it will be time again for Wolkenkratzer Festival in Frankfurt, that is, the Skyscrapers Festival. For two long days, the 5 Km way in Frankfurt city centre, there where the highest skyscrapers of the city dominate, will be the stage for open-air shows and performances by street artists and especially athletes who will perform daring acrobatic flights from the tops of high-rise buildings.

New Year’s 2013 in Germany will be a celebration in the spirit of tradition. German squares, roads, restaurants, clubs and theaters will be crowded with locals and tourists alike, all ready to celebrate the new year with a toast of Feuerzangenbowle, a traditional drink of some fraternities made with red wine, rum, orange peel, cinnamon and cloves. New Year’s Eve in Berlin will be as usual in the name of unbridled celebration in the streets with its clou moment at the Brandenburg Gate, while in Stuttgart the appointment will be at the Kunstmuseum Civic Art Museum, in Schlossplatz. In Munich, New Year’s is also passion, love and revenge with Giuseppe Verdi’s Rigoletto at the Bayerische Staatsoper.

The tradition of Christmas markets in Germany is very much alive. The ancient medieval cities, with their historic squares, the imposing gothic churches, the monuments that recall an significant and glorious past, are the perfect scenario for a period of celebration, lights and colors, which introduces to the upcoming Christmas. There are hundreds of Christmas markets in Germany; in all major and small towns, from north to south, the Weihnachtsmarkt are prepared according to different variations for each region, with craft and food specialties, different customs and specific traditions. The Frankfurt Book Fair, from October 12 to 16, is one of the most important European events for the world of publishing. In the days of the exhibition, at the Frankfurt Book Fair on Ludwig-Erhard-Anlage, you will find publishers, agents, authors, and booksellers, there to present to the public and to exchange new ideas and trends about the world of books and movies. There will be more than 7,300 exhibitors from more than 100 countries who will present their products to an estimated audience of more than 300 000 people.

The Museumsuferfest, Museum Embankment Festival in Frankfurt, is a great cultural event, one of the largest in Europe, involving the museums of the German city, but also many cultural representations of other European countries. The hub of the festival is on the south bank of River Main, where there are some of the major museums in Frankfurt.
