June 25th: Hannover, the second turn of the International Fireworks Competition

The annual fireworks competition, held in the Herrenhausen gardens of Hanover, has started in May, with the Sweden performance. On June 25, it will be up to France, then Spain on August 27, Austria on September 10 and Mexico on September 24. During the days of the competition, the Herrenhausen Gardens, in the north-east of the city, are occupied by a great festival, with any sort of stalls, shows and concerts. Tickets to watch the fireworks cost between 15 and 19 €.


The 2011 edition of the Internationalen Feuerwerkswettbewerb will see five countries in competition: Sweden, France, Spain, Austria and Mexico. In five days, between May and September, their shows will fill the night sky in Hanover of colors and fireworks.

This will be the 21st edition of the event, which takes place in Hannover Royal Gardens, and which involves citizens and tourists in great moments of fun.

On June 25, before the French fireworks exhibition in the evening, several shows are scheduled, from classical music to reggae, from tango to jazz, up to the exhibition of street artists in performances and games for children.
