Useful hints and tips for travelers in Germany
Also this year, the ProWein – international exhibition of wines and spirits, will be held in Düsseldorf. From March 27 to 29, at the Messe Düsseldorf, in Messeplatz, will be present all the major regions and wineries in the world: an exhibition especially dedicated to business.
These are professionals, traders, wholesalers and experienced people to whom the 3,400 exhibiting companies from all continents are mainly addressed. In 2010 there were over 36 000 trade visitors who crowded the halls of the Messe Düsseldorf in search of contacts and trade agreements.
ProWein is characterized by a tendency to show innovations in the wine and spirits industry, making it a point of reference for the supply and demand: for example, there are already more than 150 exhibitors from 15 countries that will present their organic wines. There will also be nearly 300 alcohol companies such as brandy, whiskey, rum or liqueur.
An important novelty this year will be the tasting area in Hall 6, in cooperation with a German trade journal, Weinwirtschaft. Here the participants can make a real ‘sensory’ experience with experts who will help you enjoy the various wines and match them to food. Elsewhere in the exhibition, in collaboration with a partner of the event, Der Feinschmecker, thirty exhibitors will offer gastronomic specialties to pair with several wines and liqueurs.
In the days of the fair the whole city is involved in the event with ‘ProWein goes city‘, a rich program of meetings and tastings. The whole event is organized in collaboration with the Institute of German wine products, DWI, Deutsche Weininstitut. During ProWein, many hotels in Düsseldorf offer packages that include the stay and the entrance to the Fair.
